Chief of Police Justin McIntire was shot and killed near the intersection of Brackenridge Avenue and Morgan Street during a foot pursuit of a wanted subject.
Chief McIntire had been sworn in as police chief of the Brackenridge Borough Police Department exactly four years earlier.
Justin was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #39, Oregon Hunting & Fishing Club and the South Buffalo Township Sportsmen’s Club. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and was a certified NRA firearms instructor. He enjoyed cooking, hunting, fishing, and loved Camp Huckabuck. Justin was an avid NASCAR, Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Penguins fan.
Chief McIntire left behind his wife Ashley, & 4 children, Jordan, 23, Alexis, 19, Brennin, 19, & Justin Jr., 10. Ashley has requested that the proceeds from this blend be donated to Tunnels to Towers.
