Sgt. John K. Williams passed away in the line of duty when he suffered a medical emergency after responding to a shooting.The 59-year-old sergeant had responded to a call involving the fatal shooting of a three-year-old boy shortly before the medical emergency struck.
John was born April 25, 1963, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Gary and Sandra (Lauger) Williams. John was raised in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, and graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1981. John was a man of integrity, precision and love. He cared deeply for his community and loved his family endlessly. His wife, Kim, was his greatest ally, and his children and grandchildren were his foundation. The grief we feel for John is immense, but his memory and legacy will be carried on through all who love him.
John’s family include his beloved, wife, Kim; children, Brandon (Nicole) Williams, Benjamin (Lauren) Williams, Sarah Williams and Rebekah Williams; grandchildren, Noah, Elijah, Elsa, Adalyn, Kalliope and Emma.
